Optical illusions are a sports photographer’s favorite accident. A gymnast with no head? A tennis player with three legs? A basketball player whose arm seems to be growing out of his opponent’s stomach? Perfect timing turns a match into a freak show, leaving the viewer trying to solve the puzzle: “Whose leg is that?!”
